Digital Platform Update - Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

North Yorkshire Council is moving ahead with plans to introduce a new digital platform for managing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). We are aiming to streamline processes, reduce staff workload, and improve transparency and access for families as part of our wider commitment to give every child and young person the opportunity to thrive.

Following a detailed review of our current systems and processes, we identified significant challenges in managing over 5,500 EHCPs using multiple disconnected tools. With up to 90 steps involved in each plan and a high volume of enquiries each month, it is clear a more effective and centralised solution is needed.

Our priority is to make the EHCP process more efficient, supportive and accessible – not just for the teams working hard behind the scenes, but for the families relying on timely, coordinated support.

We would like to invite you to join an online meeting, where you will be given the opportunity to provide the valuable feedback required to ensure we deliver a solution that works for everyone involved.
