Consultation on ceasing the residential offer at Brompton Hall School

North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) is consulting on the proposal to cease the current residential offer at Brompton Hall School near Scarborough.

Under the proposals, residential provision would be phased out, ceasing completely by September 2024.  The proposals also include changing the designation of the school from single sex, boys, to co-educational and increasing the number of day places.

The Council is asking for input from professionals, parent carers, children and young people, and anyone else who wants to comment on the proposals.

They are hosting online events throughout the consultation, and there is an online survey – all the details and links to the events are on the above page.  The information about the proposals is available in accessible formats – please email SEND@northyorks.gov.uk or call 01609 780 780 to request the information in a different format.

The council encourages anyone who wants to comment to attend an online event and fill in the survey.
