‘MOVING FORWARD - SUMMER 2026 EVENT!

Join our upcoming Summer Event 'Moving Forward' at Northallerton Town Hall!

Our theme this year is 'Moving Forward'

We have an excellent and informative line up of guest speakers and in true Parent Carer Voice style we will finish off with a relaxed uplifting afternoon!

You will leave the day better informed on upcoming SEND changes in North Yorkshire and spitits lifted through peer to peer support!

Guest Speaker - El Mayhew, Corporate Director for Children and Young People’s Services (North Yorkshire Council)

El will be joining us in the morning to provide an overview on current work and plans for support going forward within North Yorkshire Council. There will also be an opportunity for Q & A with EL, She is keen to chat with parent carers, listening to the direct voice that helps shape positive change.

Guest Speaker - Lynn Kilford, ILM Cognition and Learning and Early Identification (North Yorkshire Council)

The Inclusive Mainstream Toolkit - IMT parent guide was co-produced to support and inform your discussions with schools about provision which is ordinarily available to support children and young people in mainstream schools across North Yorkshire (aged 5-16).

Guest Speaker - Wendy Butterfield, Lead SEND Development Officer (North Yorkshire Council)

Targeted Mainstream Provision (TMP) integrates specialised SEND support within conventional schools, allowing children with complex needs (such as communication, interaction, or SEMH) to remain in local education. It offers tailored, small-group interventions, specialised staff, and early support, aiming to boost inclusion, improve outcomes, and build whole-school expertise

Lunch Break
Enjoy a tasty buffet lunch on us!

Please let us know of any dietary requirements on the final booking confirmation page.

Moving into the afternoon

Every parent carer deserves to take some time out to relax and let the stress take a back seat (for a little while anyway) and we have a lovely crafty care free afternoon lined up!

Kintsugi, or "golden joinery," is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery using lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.

The technique emphasizes that broken, repaired items are more beautiful and resilient than new ones. It reflects on embracing flaws and finding beauty in the incomplete.

All we ask is that you bring along a piece of broken pottery (plate/bowl/cup) and we will provide the rest!
